How to Find Your IP Address

Method 2: Windows

For your private IP:

  1. Press Win + R
  2. Type cmd and press Enter
  3. Type ipconfig and press Enter
  4. Look for "IPv4 Address" under your active network adapter

Method 3: macOS

  1. Apple Menu then System Settings then Network
  2. Select your active connection
  3. Your IP address is shown under "IP address"

Or use Terminal: ifconfig | grep inet

Method 4: Linux

ip addr show
hostname -I

Method 5: Android

  1. Settings then Network and Internet then Wi-Fi
  2. Tap your connected network
  3. Your IP is shown under "IP address"

Method 6: iPhone/iPad

  1. Settings then Wi-Fi
  2. Tap the "i" icon next to your connected network
  3. Your IP is shown under "IPV4 Address"

Public vs Private: Which Do You Need?
